Product Description
The Name: "Chan Xin" (Zen Heart)
The name "Chan Xin" translates to "Zen Heart" or "Meditative Mind." It draws inspiration from the Buddhist philosophy of inner peace and simplicity. The teapot captures the essence of Wabi-Sabi—finding beauty in imperfection and the natural passage of time. It invites the user to slow down, clear their mind, and find a moment of tranquility in the ritual of tea brewing.
Design & Craftsmanship
This exquisite 101ml teapot is modeled after a bamboo segment, a classic symbol of integrity and humility in Chinese culture (as bamboo is hollow, representing a receptive heart). The spout and handle are crafted to resemble natural bamboo branches. The body features a relief carving of a meditating Buddha on one side, and elegant calligraphy on the other, likely echoing the famous sentiment: "Idly watching flowers bloom and fall; calmness amidst the clouds rolling by."
Uniquely, this pot is wood-fired (Chai Shao). Unlike modern electric kilns, wood-firing creates a rich, changing atmosphere that gives the Duanni clay a distinctive, rustic patina with golden-toasted hues and natural ash settlements. No two wood-fired pots are exactly alike. This piece is perfect for solitary brewing (Gongfu Cha) of Oolong, Puerh, or White tea, ideal for collectors who appreciate spiritual aesthetics and rustic, antique textures.
