Product Story & Description

The Name: "Da Ji Ying"

The name of this teapot is deeply rooted in Zen Buddhist philosophy. "Da Ji" (Great Silence) refers to a state of complete tranquility and nirvana, free from the noise of the mundane world. "Ying" (Shadow) suggests a subtle, lingering presence. Together, the name captures the essence of a withered lotus in autumn—standing in quiet dignity, symbolizing the beauty of nature’s cycle and the peace found in stillness.

Design & Craftsmanship

This exquisite 98ml teapot serves as a piece of sculpture as much as a vessel for tea. Crafted fully by hand, it mimics the organic, irregular form of a drying lotus leaf curling in on itself. The body features undulating ridges and naturalistic folds that simulate the veins and texture of a leaf, providing a wonderful tactile experience. The spout and handle are seamlessly integrated, modeled to look like the twisting stems of the lotus. Made from Original Ore Duanni, the clay offers excellent breathability, making it perfect for rounding out the flavors of darker teas like Pu-erh or heavy-roast Oolongs.

Who is this for?

This is a collector's piece ideal for tea lovers who appreciate "Wabi-sabi" aesthetics—the beauty of imperfection and impermanence. Its small capacity makes it perfect for solitary sipping (solo brewing) or intimate Gongfu tea sessions.
