The Name: "Da Zhuo Gua"

The "Da Zhuo Gua" (Great Clumsiness Melon) teapot is a profound embodiment of the traditional Taoist aesthetic concept where "great skill appears as clumsiness" (大巧若拙). Modeled after a ripe melon, its form is organic and full, capturing the essence of a harvest in the countryside. The body of the pot is delightfully rounded, mimicking the irregular yet harmonious curves of a real fruit, grounding the piece in earthy realism.

Design & Craftsmanship

Handcrafted in Yixing using Original Ore Duanni and fired in a traditional wood kiln (Wood Fired), this teapot features a unique, rustic texture that modern gas kilns cannot replicate. The wood-firing process gives the clay a rich, varied surface with potential ash settling or subtle color gradients, perfectly complementing the "clumsy" aesthetic.
