Product Story & Description
The Name: "Qiu Shi"
"Qiu Shi" means "autumn fruit," and it evokes the season of ripening, when the year's patient growth finally comes to fruition. In Chinese culture, autumn is a time of gratitude and abundance, and a ripe fruit is a quiet symbol of reward earned through time and care. The phrase also echoes a classical ideal: spring blossoms bring beauty, but autumn fruits bring substance. A "Qiu Shi" teapot carries that wish for a full, fruitful life into everyday tea.
Design & Craftsmanship
The plump, rounded body sits low and full like a ripe fruit, with a short, clean spout and a generous loop handle that offers a comfortable, balanced grip. The domed lid is softly sculpted with petal-like contours and crowned by a gleaming gold, stem-shaped knob, completing the fruit-inspired form. Across the body, clusters of sky-blue blossoms outlined in fine gold bloom among green and gilded leaves, while a delicate pale-yellow butterfly hovers above, and tiny scattered florets carry the motif up onto the lid.
White Duanni (Bai Duanni) is a rare Yixing Zisha clay prized for its elegant ivory, off-white, or cool pale-gray appearance. This distinctive coloration stems from the raw ore's exceptionally low iron and high aluminum content. When fired at high temperatures (over 1180°C) in an oxidizing atmosphere, trace amounts of residual iron aggregate to create beautiful, naturally occurring speckles across its light, unglazed surface.
Boasting outstanding breathability, it perfectly softens astringent teas. Ideal for delicate white, green, and light oolongs, White Duanni demands meticulous care but rewards dedicated use with a stunning, jade-like patina.
