Product Story & Description

The Name: "Shang Xin Qiao"

This is one of the most classic teapot shapes in Yixing history, famously perfected by the Grand Master Gu Jingzhou in the 1960s. The name translates to "Boarding the New Bridge" or simply "New Bridge." It evokes a serene image of standing upon a stone bridge, looking down at the flowing water below. It symbolizes connection, stability, and the peaceful enjoyment of nature.

Design & Craftsmanship

The defining feature of this 230ml teapot is the lid knob, sculpted into the shape of a traditional Chinese arched bridge. The shoulder of the pot features concentric carved rings that mimic ripples spreading across water, creating a dynamic sense of flow despite the pot's static form.

The material used is Long Gu Jin Sha (Dragon Bone with Gold Sand), a rare and texturally rich ore. It features a coarse, distinct grain with golden specks scattered across the dark reddish-brown body, resembling stars in a night sky. This high-granularity clay offers excellent breathability, making it perfect for rounding out the flavor of tea.

Recommendation

With a medium capacity of 230ml, this teapot is ideal for sharing tea with 2-3 friends. Due to the porous and grainy nature of the "Dragon Bone" clay, it is highly recommended for Pu-erh (ripe and raw) or heavily roasted Oolong (like Rock Tea), as the clay will help soften the water and enhance the tea's mellowness.
