Product Story & Description

The Name: "Sifang Dezhong" (Square Bell)

The "De Zhong" is a classic teapot shape dating back to the Qing Dynasty, originally created by master potter Shao Daheng. "De" implies virtue and moral integrity, while "Zhong" means bell. Historically, bells signaled time and order; thus, this pot symbolizes the "Bell of Virtue," representing dignity and upright character. This specific version is a "Sifang" (Square) adaptation, adding a sense of strength and stability to the traditional round form.

Design & Craftsmanship

This 200ml teapot is a masterful example of geometric Zisha art. In Yixing craftsmanship, the saying "one square equals ten rounds" highlights that square pots are significantly harder to create by hand than round ones due to the precision required during firing. Crafted from Original Ore Zini (Purple Clay), the pot features a deep, mature brownish-purple tone known for excellent breathability, making it perfect for brewing Pu-erh, Black tea, or roasted Oolong. The body is square but with softened, rounded corners, embodying the Chinese philosophy of being "upright yet accommodating." The lid fits flush with the body for a seamless silhouette, while the short, straight spout ensures a powerful pour, complemented by a sturdy square handle for a confident grip.
