Product Story & Description

The Name: "Long Dan" (Dragon Egg)

One of the most classic and beloved shapes in Yixing history, the "Long Dan" or Dragon Egg style dates back to the Ming Dynasty. In Chinese mythology, the dragon is a supreme symbol of power and auspiciousness. The "egg" shape represents the origin of life and infinite potential. Despite its powerful name, this teapot is celebrated for its soft, rounded approachability and "cute" aesthetic.

Design, Material

This 160ml teapot features a minimalist, egg-shaped body with smooth, fluid lines that taper gently toward the top. It features a "Jie Gai" (truncated lid) design, creating a seamless silhouette. The short, straight spout ensures a powerful water flow, while the inverted "ear" handle offers a comfortable grip.

The highlight of this piece is the material: Original Ore Da Hong Pao. This is a rare, prestigious red clay known for its vibrant, vermilion color and high shrinkage rate during firing, making it difficult to craft but stunning to behold. The clay is highly breathable, making it perfect for rounding out the harsh notes of tea.

Recommendation: Ideal for brewing Light Oolong (like Tie Guan Yin), High Mountain Oolong, or Raw Puerh tea.
