Product Story & Description
The Name: "Hua Yu"
The name "Hua Yu" is derived from the poetic concept of "Yu Hua" (羽化), meaning to grow feathers and ascend, often symbolizing a spiritual transformation or the lightness of becoming an immortal in Taoist culture. It suggests a state of ethereal beauty and the shedding of heavy burdens. The "Ti Liang" refers to the elegant overhead handle style, which frames the pot like a painting.
Design & Craftsmanship
This delicate 90ml teapot is a masterpiece of the "Chai Shao" (Wood Firing) technique. The body features a segmented, lobed design reminiscent of a melon or flower, while the spout and overhead handle are sculpted to look like slender bamboo or tree branches, offering a connection to nature. Because this teapot is fired in a traditional wood kiln, the flames and falling ash interact with the Duanni clay to create a unique, rustic surface texture and color gradient.
Important Note on Wood Firing:
Please note that due to the natural wood-firing process, the flame patterns and color variations are unpredictable. Each teapot is a one-of-a-kind piece and the color of the teapot you receive may differ slightly from the photos. This uniqueness is the hallmark of authentic wood-fired pottery.
