Product Story & Description

The Name:

"De Zhong" translates to the "Bell of Virtue." It is one of the most classic and revered traditional shapes in Yixing teapot history. Inspired by the minimalist and elegant aesthetics of the Ming Dynasty, the shape resembles an ancient bronze bell, representing uprightness, inner peace, and a noble character.

Design & Craftsmanship:

This 140ml teapot showcases a dignified, steady, and minimalist profile. It features a broad, stable base, a classic straight spout for a powerful and smooth water flow, and a perfectly proportioned ear-shaped handle.

Zhu Ni (along with the broader Hong Ni family) is known for its delicate texture and striking appearance. After firing, it features a beautiful color that ranges from bright orange to deep red. When showered with hot water, the clay beautifully comes alive, quickly flushing to a vibrant, bright red that sometimes exhibits a subtle, wandering purple glow.

Zhu Ni is characterized by its high density and low porosity. Because of this dense structure, the clay does not absorb the tea's fragrance. Instead, it acts to lock in and retain the delicate aromas of the tea leaves.

Cultural Meaning & Recommendation:

The De Zhong teapot symbolizes moral integrity, stability, and clarity of mind. It is highly recommended for tea enthusiasts who appreciate minimalist aesthetics, traditional Yixing purists, and collectors of classic shapes.

Due to its exceptional ability to preserve fragrance, Zhu Ni is perfectly suited for highly aromatic teas. The article highly recommends pairing Zhu Ni teapots with: Light Oolongs (such as Tieguanyin and Dancong).
