Product Story & Description

The Name:

"Han Wa" refers to the traditional roof tiles from the Han Dynasty, symbolizing antiquity, stability, and profound historical grounding. "Pao Zui" translates to "Cannon Spout," referring to the straight, robust, and slightly upward-tilted spout. Together, the name represents a perfect blend of ancient foundations and powerful, unobstructed momentum.

Design & Craftsmanship:

This teapot is a prime example of minimalist aesthetics meeting ultimate functionality. The cylindrical body is clean and sturdy, topped with a flat lid and a classic bridge-shaped knob for a comfortable grip. The standout "Cannon Spout" design not only gives the teapot a resolute character but also ensures a powerful, smooth, and precise water pour. The unadorned surface highlights the natural texture and beauty of the clay itself.

Zhu Ni (along with the broader Hong Ni family) is known for its delicate texture and striking appearance. After firing, it features a beautiful color that ranges from bright orange to deep red. When showered with hot water, the clay beautifully comes alive, quickly flushing to a vibrant, bright red that sometimes exhibits a subtle, wandering purple glow.

Zhu Ni is characterized by its high density and low porosity. Because of this dense structure, the clay does not absorb the tea's fragrance. Instead, it acts to lock in and retain the delicate aromas of the tea leaves.

Recommended For:

Due to its exceptional ability to preserve fragrance, Zhu Ni is perfectly suited for highly aromatic teas. The article highly recommends pairing Zhu Ni teapots with: Light Oolongs (such as Tieguanyin and Dancong).
