Product Story & Description
The Name: "Ru Yi Shi Yuan" (Auspicious Round Persimmon)
In Chinese culture, the persimmon shares the same pronunciation as the word for "matter" or "affair" (Shi). The name "Shi Yuan" combined with the concept of "Ru Yi" symbolizes the famous idiom "Shi Shi Ru Yi"—meaning "may everything go smoothly and exactly according to your wishes." The round shape (Yuan) further signifies life's completeness, harmony, and reunion.
Design & Craftsmanship
This teapot showcases a beautifully plump and minimalist profile inspired by the shape of a ripe persimmon. The elegant bridge-shaped lid knob, combined with a gracefully curved short spout and an ergonomic ear-shaped handle, creates a perfectly balanced and harmonious silhouette.
Zhu Ni (along with the broader Hong Ni family) is known for its delicate texture and striking appearance. After firing, it features a beautiful color that ranges from bright orange to deep red. When showered with hot water, the clay beautifully comes alive, quickly flushing to a vibrant, bright red that sometimes exhibits a subtle, wandering purple glow.
Zhu Ni is characterized by its high density and low porosity. Because of this dense structure, the clay does not absorb the tea's fragrance. Instead, it acts to lock in and retain the delicate aromas of the tea leaves.
Recommended Users
Due to its exceptional ability to preserve fragrance, Zhu Ni is perfectly suited for highly aromatic teas. The article highly recommends pairing Zhu Ni teapots with: Light Oolongs (such as Tieguanyin and Dancong).
