Product Story & Description

The Name: "Zhu Fu"

"Zhu Fu" means "bamboo blessing." In Chinese, the word for bamboo, "zhu," sounds like "zhu" meaning "to wish," so bamboo images often carry the meaning "wishing you good fortune." Bamboo is also one of the "Four Gentlemen," admired for its upright, resilient and humble character. The name pairs that gentlemanly virtue with a warm wish for happiness.

Design & Craftsmanship

The round, full body sits low and steady, topped with a stepped, domed lid and a loop knob. The short spout is shaped with a subtle bamboo joint, and a rounded handle offers a comfortable grip. One side is incised with a lively spray of bamboo, signed with the maker's inscription and seal.

The Clay: Zini

Crafted from premium Zini (Purple Clay)—the most classic and revered of all authentic Yixing clays—this teapot features a rich, earthy purplish-brown hue.
